MIA <ADOPTED>

This is Mia. She is a well trained pure bred Maremma.  The Maremma is classed as a guardian dog… not a guard dog.  They have low prey drive but will fearlessly protect their family in case of real danger.  They are a fabulous companion to have if you enjoy camping.  Maremmas have lovely coats which is self-cleaning and do not require a bathing even if they get really dirty.  Mia has a yearly bath once a year and  grooming - low maintenance and no ‘doggy smell’.

Mia loves the outdoors and would be delighted to join her new family on camping adventures.  Mia was neutered Jan 2023 a couple of months before she turned 3.

When her family goes on vacation they usually leave her at the doggy lodge where she has stayed with other cats and dogs for several days overnight. The owner of the lodge has always given a good report for her as she is well behaved.

Mia will bark to alert to an intruder but will stop when given the hand signal to desist.  She is not at all destructive.  Mia knows not to enter the kitchen so as to keep her fur out of food prep areas.  She knows the commands for sit, stay, turn around and more.  She paws at the door if she needs to go outside.
